Every claim of fact in our articles is verified before publication by a second member of the editorial team — not the original author. This includes pricing, specifications, safety ratings, range figures, government regulations, and any quantitative claim. Opinions and subjective assessments (e.g., 'the ride feels firm') are not fact-checked, but are clearly labeled as our assessment.
We use the following source hierarchy, in descending order of authority: (1) Official manufacturer specifications and press releases (e.g., ARAI-certified mileage from the OEM's website); (2) Government of India sources (e.g., MoRTH, ARAI, GNCAP, BHARAT-NCAP); (3) Reputable industry bodies (SIAM, FADA); (4) Our own first-hand testing (with disclosed methodology); (5) Mainstream automotive media (cited with publication name and date). We do not cite user-generated content (forums, Reddit, YouTube comments) as primary sources.
A fact is any statement that can be independently verified. Examples: 'The Tata Nexon EV has a 40.5 kWh battery pack' (fact, verifiable via ARAI homologation document); 'The Nexon EV feels quick off the line' (opinion, not fact-checked); 'Tata claims a 437 km range' (fact about a claim — we verify the claim was made, not the range itself, which we test separately).
When sources conflict (e.g., manufacturer claims 500 km range but our real-world test yielded 320 km), we report both numbers transparently: 'Tata claims 500 km (MIDC cycle); our 14-day real-world test across mixed city/highway driving yielded 320 km on a full charge.' We never silently substitute our number for theirs, or vice versa.
If a published article contains a factual error, we issue a correction within 24 hours of verification. The correction is appended to the article in a clearly visible 'Corrections' section with the date, the original incorrect statement, and the corrected statement. Evergreen content (buying guides, calculators, policy explainers) is reviewed at least once every 6 months to ensure pricing, regulatory references, and product availability remain current. Time-sensitive content (e.g., '2026 Mahindra XUV700 Electric launch') is reviewed every 90 days until launch, then archived after launch with a 'Historical article — preserved as published' notice.
